{OH MY Omegas! Açaí smoOthie}

Lately we've been making this delicious smoOthie with pear juice, but this morning we made it with goji candylope juice and OH MY gOodness was it mMmmmAzing!

Ingredients:

2 cups of pear juice (or goji candylope)
1 packet of frozen açaí (unsweetened)
1 frozen pear
1 frozen banana
2 tbsp ground flax seeds (fiber & omega 3)
2 tbsp hemp seeds (good source of protein & omega 3 & 6)
1 tbsp coconut butter (has so many wonderful healing properties!)

Blend on high until smooth and enjoy on a hot summer day!

Fun facts: Açaí (pronounced ah-sigh-ee) is a delicious purple palm berry grown in the Amazon in Brazil and is a staple food for the local Amazonians. Açaí is an anti-aging super food that is super duper rich in antioxidants. It's also rich in omegas 3, 6 & 9! Essential Fatty Acids (EFA's) are important in helping boost your immune system. They are necessary for human health but the body can't make them so you have to get them through your food. EFA's control and direct regulation of physiological functions like the immune system, blood pressure, nervous system, inflammation, blood clotting, and hormone regulation.

We love Sambazon's açaí. They were one of the first to introduce açaí to the US after falling in love with it on a surf trip to Brazil. I've met the owners through the skate community and they are super nice ; ) You should be able to find their frozen açaí packs at your local health food store ; )
